Muaythai / One Championship: Algerian Nabil Anane Defeats Scot Nico Carrillo by Technical Knockout

Algerian kickboxer Nabil Anane demonstrated his prowess by defeating Scottish fighter Nico Carrillo via technical knockout in the first round of their interim match at the muaythai world championships in the bantamweight division. The bout took place on Friday at Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, as part of the Asian One Championship.

On paper, this fight appeared to be a considerable challenge for the young Algerian, who is only 20 years old and a member of the “Mehdi Zatout” team. He faced a more seasoned opponent in Carrillo, who is 26 and represents the renowned Deachkalek Muay-Thai Academy.

However, the outcome was favorable for Anane, marking his sixth consecutive victory in the One Championship arena. His previous win occurred on September 29, when he triumphed over Soe Lin Oo from Burma, winning by unanimous decision at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.

“My goal is to maintain this positive momentum and continue securing victories while maturing and gaining experience along the way. In due time, when I am ready, I will pursue the world title,” he expressed following the fight.

The event featured several other exciting matchups, including a duel between Iraqi Shakir Al-Tekreeti and Japanese competitor Masaaki Noiri. However, the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the all-Thai showdown between Tawanchai PK Saenchai and Superbon, competing for the world title in the Featherweight category (55 kg – 57 kg).
