Lebanon: Over 50,000 people flee towards Syria amid violent Zionist strikes

GENEVA – More than 50,000 people have fled to Syria in the wake of the Zionist entity’s airstrikes on Lebanon, stated UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Filippo Grandi on Saturday.
“Over 50,000 Lebanese and Syrians living in Lebanon have now crossed the border into Syria to escape the Zionist airstrikes,” Grandi wrote on social media, noting that “more than 200,000 people are displaced within Lebanon.”
A UNHCR spokesperson indicated that the total number of displaced people in Lebanon has reached 211,319, with 118,000 displaced since the Zionist forces significantly intensified their airstrikes on Monday.
“Relief operations are ongoing to assist all those in need in coordination with the authorities,” added Grandi.
Since Monday, the Zionist bombardments have resulted in over 700 martyrs, the majority of whom were civilians, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health. Besides, the toll of martyrs since October has exceeded 1,500.
