Lebanon: Naïm Kassem Elected as Head of Hezbollah

Naïm Kassem, the second-in-command of the Lebanese movement Hezbollah, was elected on Tuesday to lead the party, succeeding Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed last September in a Zionist strike in southern Beirut, according to a report from the Lebanese National Information Agency citing a statement from the organization.
“The Hezbollah Shura Council has elected Sheikh Naïm Kassem as the new Secretary General of Hezbollah,” the statement read.
Hassan Nasrallah was killed during an attack by Zionist forces on the southern suburbs of Beirut on September 27.
