Lebanon: 178 Healthcare Workers Killed Since October 2023

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Thursday that the death toll among healthcare workers as a result of the ongoing Zionist aggression against Lebanon has risen to 178 deaths, with an additional 279 individuals injured.
In its statement, the ministry reported that “the enemy (Zionist forces) targeted a gathering point for the Civil Defense Association at the Dardaghiya intersection, leading to the deaths of four paramedics.”
The statement further noted, “The enemy promptly struck a second site associated with the organization in the city of Sela, igniting a vehicle fire; fortunately, the paramedics managed to escape unharmed.”
It was clarified that “this brings the total number of martyrs in the health sector to 178, along with 279 injuries and 246 vehicles targeted since the escalation of Zionist aggression began.”
The ministry underscored that “the silence of the international community in the face of this brutality is indefensible, particularly when it is vital for voices to rise in defense of humanitarian laws and to halt the machinery of violence that continues to claim the lives of frontline workers.”
Since the onset of the genocidal assault on the Gaza Strip on October 8, 2023, the Zionist aggression against Lebanon has resulted in 2,822 martyrs and 12,937 injuries.
