Kremlin Hails Russia–US Summit in Alaska as “Joint Success,” Slams NATO Chief’s Remarks

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov described the recent Russia–US summit held in Anchorage, Alaska, as “a very positive, constructive, joint success.” His remarks highlighted Moscow’s satisfaction with the outcome of the high-level talks, which focused on key issues in bilateral relations and global security.
Peskov also took aim at NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, criticizing his recent comments that he said insulted Russian pilots and sailors. The Kremlin representative dismissed the remarks as inappropriate and unprofessional, emphasizing that such rhetoric undermines diplomatic dialogue.
He added that “incompetence is unfortunately common among many European officials,” reflecting Russia’s growing frustration with what it sees as increasingly hostile and undiplomatic attitudes within NATO leadership circles.
