ALGIERS – The new Japanese Ambassador, Suzuki Kotaro, commended on Wednesday Algeria’s role in restoring peace and stability in the region, as well as its influence in the international fora.
“Algeria is a regional force that has influence in the international fora,” and contributes to regional and global peace and stability, said Kotaro at the end of the ceremony for the presentation of his credentials to the Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
“After presenting my credentials from the Emperor of Japan, I received from the President of the Republic an overview of Algeria’s history, its present and future,” he said, emphasizing that he conveyed “Japan’s willingness to develop its cooperation and relations with Algeria.”
He also recalled that the two countries agreed to establish a joint economic commission and are coordinating to “strengthen their relations, particularly through Japanese companies established in Algeria.”
“We will also collaborate in the fields of hydrocarbons, renewable energy, green hydrogen, human resources and start-ups,” added the ambassador.
