IVECO Presents Utility Vehicle Manufacturing Project in Algeria

On Tuesday, the Algerian Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Ali Aoun, welcomed a delegation from the Italian automobile manufacturing group “IVECO” in Algiers. The delegation was led by Impelluso Carmelo, the group’s regional director for North Africa and the Middle East, who introduced a project aimed at manufacturing medium and heavy utility vehicles in Algeria, according to a statement from the ministry.

The meeting, held at the ministry’s headquarters and attended by the Italian ambassador to Algeria, Alberto Cutillo, allowed the Italian partner to outline the policies of the “IVECO” automotive group. These policies focus on addressing the needs of the Algerian market while also emphasizing export opportunities, the statement indicated.

After the presentation, Aoun expressed his satisfaction with the relationship between Algeria and Italy, underscoring “the necessity of developing a genuine automotive industry rooted in local integration through collaboration with local subcontractors.”

The minister also highlighted “the importance of adhering to specifications to secure approval and promptly launch this initiative,” as noted in the statement.
