Iraq receives over 18,000 Lebanese refugees fleeing ongoing Zionist aggression

BAGHDAD – Iraq’s border authorities announced on Sunday that more than 18,000 Lebanese refugees have entered the country over the past 44 days, fleeing the ongoing Zionist attacks on southern Lebanon.
“From September 27 to November 10, over 18,000 Lebanese nationals have crossed into Iraq,” the border authorities stated.
The authorities clarified that Iraq’s decision to welcome Lebanese refugees is based on Prime Minister Mohamed Shiaa Al-Sudani’s directive to provide free entry visas and offer humanitarian and medical assistance.
“Our efforts, in cooperation with various operational departments, continue to ensure the proper reception of Lebanese citizens,” the statement added.
The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) recently reported that more than half a million people have fled Lebanon to Syria and Iraq since September 23, due to the ongoing Zionist aggression.
