Iran: IRCS establishes emergency shelter camp at the Lebanese-Syrian border

TEHRAN – The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) announced on Saturday that it has established an emergency shelter camp and a field hospital at the Lebanese-Syrian border to accommodate displaced and injured Lebanese citizens.
This initiative was undertaken following the escalation of Zionist attacks on Lebanon, said Pirhossein Kolivand, President of the IRCS, in a press release.
Mr. Kolivand specified that the camp, consisting of hundreds of tents equipped with essential supplies, could house thousands of displaced Lebanese. He also mentioned that the field hospital would soon be equipped to treat the wounded.
The IRCS plans to expand the size of the camp in the future, he added.
On Friday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei had posted on X that Iran had provided humanitarian aid to Lebanon, delivering a “shipment of 10 tonnes of food and medical supplies.”
Since September 23, the Zionist army has intensified its airstrikes on Lebanon, resulting in hundreds of martyrs and forcing many residents in several regions to flee their homes.
