India Set to Become Global Growth Leader, Russian Official Says

Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration, highlighted India’s rising economic influence, stating that the country is poised to become a global growth leader in the coming decades.

Speaking at the Russia-India Business Forum organized by the Roscongress Foundation and FICCI, Oreshkin emphasized that Russian delegations and businesses are seeking to significantly increase purchases of Indian goods and services, framing it as a strategic move rather than a temporary initiative.

“Today, India is one of the key drivers of the global economy. Considering its demographics and urbanization, India is a global growth leader for the coming decades and a significant player in global trade. India has achieved significant results in science and technology,” he said. Oreshkin’s remarks underscore the deepening economic and technological cooperation between the world’s third- and fourth-largest economies.
