IAEA and UN Voice Alarm Over Strikes on Iran’s Nuclear Sites

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) expressed deep concern over recent attacks targeting nuclear facilities in Iran, following strikes attributed to the Zionist entity.
In a post published on the agency’s official account on platform X, Director General Rafael Grossi confirmed that the Natanz nuclear facility was among the targets hit. He stated that the IAEA is in close contact with Iranian authorities to monitor radiation levels and is also maintaining communication with inspectors currently on the ground in Iran.
Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed serious concern regarding the Israeli strikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
Speaking on behalf of the Secretary-General, UN Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Haq urged all parties involved to exercise maximum restraint. He warned of the dangers of military escalation in the Middle East at a time when diplomatic talks between Iran and the United States over the nuclear program are ongoing.
“The Secretary-General condemns any military escalation in the region and urges both sides to avoid intensifying the conflict at all costs,” Haq added.
The developments come amid heightened tensions and underline international fears over potential fallout from the conflict, especially given the sensitivity of nuclear sites and their global implications.
