Gaza Belongs to Palestinians, Says Chinese Foreign Minister

BEIJING, March 7, 2025 – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi declared that “the Gaza Strip belongs to the Palestinians and is an integral part of Palestinian territory,” according to local media reports on Friday.

During a press conference in Beijing on Thursday, Wang emphasized that “the Gaza Strip belongs to the people of Gaza, and any alteration in its status would only result in chaos.” He stressed that discussions regarding Gaza’s future should prioritize “promoting comprehensive and lasting peace, enhancing humanitarian aid, and contributing to its reconstruction.”

In this context, the Chinese minister underscored that governance of the Palestinian enclave by its residents must be a fundamental requirement. He urged “all parties in the Middle East to set aside their differences and support the State of Palestine.”

Additionally, Wang highlighted China’s role as a strategic partner for Middle Eastern nations and a steadfast ally of Arab countries.
