Mohamed Maâmoun Al-Kacimi Al-Hoceini, the rector of Djamaâ El-Djazaïr, announced on Wednesday in Algiers a proposed partnership agreement between the National Higher School of Islamic Sciences “Dar El-Coran” and the esteemed Ez-Zitouna University in Tunis, according to a press release from Djamaâ El-Djazaïr.

This announcement was made during a reception hosted by Al-Kacimi for the Tunisian Minister of Interior, Khaled Nouri, who visited Djamaâ El-Djazaïr alongside the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Urban Planning, Brahim Merad, as reported by the same source.

The Rector emphasized that this partnership aims to “strengthen the deep historical and cultural ties between Algeria and Tunisia,” adding that “Ez-Zitouna University has always been, and continues to be, a symbol of the fraternal relations between our two peoples, as well as a beacon of Islamic knowledge and culture in the Maghreb region.”

He explained that the goal of the agreement is to “enhance scientific and cultural cooperation, fortify the bonds between the two countries, and renew the commitment made by our ancestors, which resonates today and, God willing, will be preserved by our children,” as stated in the release.

Sheikh Al-Kacimi provided an overview of the various structures of Djamaâ El-Djazaïr and its message of moderation and balance.

In response, the Tunisian Minister of Interior expressed his admiration for Djamaâ El-Djazaïr, highlighting both its unique architecture and its civilizational significance.
