Czech Fire Rescue Service delegation on working visit to Algeria

A delegation of the Czech Fire Rescue Service is on a working visit to Algeria as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries, especially in civil protection and major risk management, the General Directorate of Civil Protection said Saturday in a press release.

“As part of boosting cooperation between Algeria and the Czech Republic, notably in civil protection and major risk management, a delegation from the Czech Fire and Rescue Service, led by Director General, General Vladimir Vlcek, is paying a working visit to Algeria from 7 to 10 November, at the invitation of Algeria’s Civil Protection Director General, Colonel Boualam Bourelaf,” the statement said.

The visit “builds on Colonel Bourelaf’s working visit to the Czech Republic last December, accompanied by officials from the General Directorate, which laid the foundations for a productive partnership between the two institutions,” the source said.

The visit is part of “a shared willingness to enhance technical expertise sharing and strengthen bilateral coordination mechanisms by reviewing Algeria’s civil protection operational capabilities, coordination systems, and training facilities.”

It also seeks to “deepen the exchange of best practices in preventing and effectively managing natural, industrial and technological disasters.”

Colonel Bourelaf is expected to host the Czech delegation at the headquarters of the National Training and Intervention Unit, where a detailed briefing will be given on the sector’s administrative and operational structure, as well as Algeria’s specialized civil protection teams and their local and international field experience.

Both sides will also share experiences and expertise with operational teams on emergency response and intervention methods.
