Conflict in Sudan: 57 Killed in Violence in El-Fasher

Reports indicate that at least 57 individuals have been killed following attacks by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the city of El-Fasher, located in Darfur, western Sudan, according to a medical source.

On Wednesday, clashes erupted between the Sudanese army and the RSF, accompanied by bombardments carried out by the paramilitary group.

On Sunday, the RSF, which now controls nearly all of Darfur, announced its takeover of the Zamzam camp near El-Fasher, where more than 500,000 displaced individuals enduring famine are currently residing, as reported by the United Nations.

The conflict, which began on April 15, 2023, between the Sudanese army and the RSF, has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths, displaced approximately 13 million people, and has driven parts of this East African nation into famine.
