Bulgaria: Military Pilots Die in Training Aircraft Crash

Bulgarian authorities announced today that two military pilots have died following the crash of a training aircraft in the southern part of the country.

Bulgarian Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov reported that the incident involved an L-39 ZA training aircraft that went down near the Graf Ignatievo Air Base. The crash occurred just one day before a scheduled military air show, prompting officials to launch an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.

It is worth noting that in 2018, two Bulgarian servicemen lost their lives, and a third was injured when a military helicopter they were aboard crashed near the Krumovo military base and Plovdiv civil airport in southern Bulgaria.
