Bendjama: The Israeli authorities care nothing about the international law

Algeria’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Amar Bendjama, expressed on Sunday his country’s condemnation of the “Israeli cabinet’s decision” to displace the entire population of Gaza city and northern Gaza, while imposing full military control on the Gaza Strip.
Bendjama’s address comes as the UN Security Council convened an emergency session in New York to discuss the escalating situation in Gaza, responding to the occupation’s plan to further expand its military operation inside the Gaza Strip and take full control of the key population center of Gaza City.
In this regard, Bendjama emphasized that such an operation “would not merely ruin Gaza, it would annihilate what remains of it.”
Moreover, he warned that the Zionist occupation seeks to push the entire Palestinian population outside the Strip.
“The Israeli authorities care nothing about the international law, they care nothing about this council, they care nothing about humanity itself,” he said.
The Algerian Representative called on the UN Security Council to defend the Palestinian people, stressing that “silence is not neutral, silence kills.”
Several countries, including the United Kingdom, Denmark, Slovenia, and Greece, called for the emergency meeting of the UN Security Council regarding the situation in Gaza.
The countries condemned the occupation’s decision to expand its military operations in Gaza, warning that the plan violates international humanitarian law.
Moreover, they affirmed that any attempt to annex land or expand colonial settlements breaches international law.
It is noteworthy that the Zionist occupation’s genocidal war on Gaza has killed at least 61,430 Palestinians and wounded 153,213 others, according to Gaza Health Ministry.
