Belgium: Tuesday flights cancelled at Brussels Airport

BRUSSELS – All flights scheduled for Tuesday to and from Brussels Airport have been cancelled due to a workers’ strike, officials announced on Monday.

Airport authorities stated in a press release that security personnel would strike on October 1, leading to significant disruptions in operations. “To ensure the safety of passengers and staff, airlines in coordination with Brussels Airport have decided not to operate outbound flights on October 1,” the statement read.

The release further noted that “airlines will contact affected passengers, and those with round-trip flights are advised not to come to the airport on October 1.”

It emphasised that “flights to Brussels may still occur, but there could also be cancellations, and all passengers with flights to Brussels Airport are advised to check the status of their flights.”
