Algerian President Reaffirms State’s Commitment to Integrating Youth in the Shift Towards a Competitive Economy

ALGIERS – Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune reaffirmed on Sunday the state’s commitment to further advancing Algerian universities and the education system at various levels and in different fields, in order to align them with the economic reality and the paths toward a knowledge-based economy.

On the occasion of the 69th anniversary of Student Day, President Tebboune underscored the state’s commitment to strengthening the role of Algerian universities by putting in place mechanisms to integrate university students and vocational training graduates into the ongoing and inevitable shift toward an open, diversified, and competitive economy—particularly through facilitating and supporting the creation of small and medium-sized enterprises.

« I express our deep pride in the outstanding achievements of the brilliant top performers in our universities—their leadership and excellence in innovation and creativity, and their ability to keep pace with the most advanced and sophisticated technologies in the world. I extend my congratulations to our female and male students, the builders of today’s Algeria, » he said.

The Algerian president emphasized that the establishment of a distinguished national university system is reflected in the increasing number of graduates from institutes and universities, the financial resources invested, and the mobilization of human capital. This, he stated, positions the Algerian university, in the context of the victorious New Algeria, as a central pillar in the country’s drive to develop and diversify its economic activities.

“It is with great pleasure that, on this day when students celebrate National Student Day, I extend my greetings to the Algerian youth who fill the halls of our universities, striving for success with the ambition of those eager to contribute to the building of a strong and victorious Algeria,” President Tebboune said in his message.
