Algerian President Highlights Total Convergence Between Algeria and Slovenia on All Issues

On Tuesday in Ljubljana, Slovenia, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune emphasized the full alignment between Algeria and Slovenia on a range of issues, affirming Algeria’s readiness to meet the gas needs of this “friendly nation.” “We exchanged views with the President of Slovenia, and there is complete convergence on all matters, including illegal migration, artificial intelligence, space affairs, water, and environmental issues,” stated the President during a joint declaration with his Slovenian counterpart, Natasa Pirc Musar, following their discussions.
In this context, the President underscored that the path is “open for establishing strong and exemplary relations between a European state (Slovenia) and a Maghreb and African state (Algeria).” He noted, “Slovenia possesses numerous opportunities from which our youth can benefit,” adding that Algeria “is a reliable country prepared to meet Slovenia’s gas requirements.”
He further asserted, “Our country will remain unaffected by future changes.”
During this occasion, the President took time to commend “the courageous and honorable positions of the Republic of Slovenia regarding the Palestinian issue,” emphasizing that Slovenia “was the first European state to recognize the State of Palestine.” “This is a significant honor, and we hope it serves as a model for other nations,” he remarked, also acknowledging Slovenia’s stance on the Western Sahara issue.
President Tebboune reiterated his hope that “both parties can reach a mutually acceptable solution under the auspices of the United Nations, which recognizes the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination through a referendum.”
