Algerian President Chairs Ceremony Marking 71st Anniversary of the Liberation Revolution

ALGIERS – Algerian President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, chaired on Saturday evening at the National Army Circle, in Beni Messous (Algiers), a ceremony honouring active and retired senior officers of the People’s National Army (PNA), marking the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the Glorious Revolution of 1 November 1954.
“On the occasion of commemorating the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious Revolution of November 1, 1954, the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, chaired on Saturday evening , 1 November 2025, at the National Army Circle, in Beni Messous, a reception in honor of senior active and retired officers of the People’s National Army, in the presence of a number of the State’s senior officials,” the Algerian Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
Army General Saïd Chengriha, Deputy Minister to the Minister of National Defense, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, received the President of the Republic at the entrance of the National Army Circle.
The source noted that this reception, part of the People’s National Army’s longstanding traditions of honoring our glorious historical milestones and commemorating our noble martyrs, was attended by the Speaker of the Council of the Nation, Speaker of the People’s National Assembly, Prime Minister, President of the Constitutional Court and the government’s members, along with the Land Forces Corps Commander, Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Defense, Republican Guard Commander, Force Commanders, Director of the Office of the Ministry of National Defense, Acting National Gendarmerie Commander, Military Region Commanders, department heads, directors and central service chiefs at the Ministry of National Defense and the People’s National Army Staff, as well as the State’s senior officials, national figures and mujahideen.
At the beginning, “the attendees listened to the national anthem performed by the Republican Guard Music Band, followed by the playing of two revolutionary anthems from our ancient heritage, after which the attendees watched a documentary film entitled: (November Revolution Epic of Glory and Path of Victory) produced by the Information and Communication Directorate of the People’s National Army Staff,” the statement added.
