Algerian President: Algeria is making steady progress in the fields of digitization and AI

ALGIERS – Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune affirmed that Algeria is making “steady” progress in the development of digitization and the use of artificial intelligence across various sectors.
During his periodic meeting with the media, which was broadcast on national television and radio channels on Friday evening, the Algerian President discussed the progress made in implementing digitization and integrating artificial intelligence across various sectors. He pointed out that Algeria “moved in this direction years ago and recently inaugurated the National School of Artificial Intelligence”—steps stemming from its belief in the future of AI and digitization.
In this regard, he mentioned the project to establish a National Data Center in cooperation with the Chinese company Huawei, aimed at “gathering all data related to various sectors, especially the economic ones.” He highlighted the importance of relying on accurate data in the fields of economy and consumption through digitization, which he described as “a culture linked to transparency.”
