Algerian Foreign Minister Meets Mauritanian Counterpart in Beijing

On Wednesday, the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, engaged in discussions in Beijing with Mohamed Salem Ould Merzouk, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. This meeting was part of a series of bilateral talks held on the sidelines of the African-Chinese Cooperation Forum ministerial meeting, as stated by the ministry.
During their discussions, the two ministers consulted on key issues and topics that will be addressed at the upcoming African-Chinese summit, which is set to commence tomorrow. They also exchanged views on recent developments at both regional and continental levels.
In addition, Attaf met with Ma Zhaoxu, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.
This meeting focused on reviewing Algerian-Chinese relations and exploring opportunities to strengthen them within the context of ongoing efforts to implement the significant outcomes of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s state visit to China in July 2023.
