Algerian Foreign Minister Discusses Bilateral Relations and Current Issues with Trump Advisor

ALGIERS – Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, received on Sunday the Senior Advisor to the President of the United States for Africa, Massad Boulos, who is on an official visit to Algeria, the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

On this occasion, Minister Attaf held a private meeting with Massad Boulos, followed by an expanded discussion session with the participation of both countries’ delegations.

These discussions provided an opportunity to review the various aspects of Algerian-American relations and explore ways to elevate them to their highest potential, the statement said.

In this regard, both parties commended the ongoing strategic dialogue between Algeria and the United States and praised the positive momentum characterizing their bilateral partnership across several key priority areas, including defense, energy, agriculture, and higher education and scientific research, the source added.

According to the statement, the two sides also highlighted the level of coordination between their countries at the United Nations Security Council and exchanged views and analyses on key current issues across the African continent—with particular focus on developments in Libya, Western Sahara, the Sahel, the Great Lakes region, and the African interior in general.
