Algerian FM Holds Bilateral Talks with East Timorese Counterpart in Kuala Lumpur

ALGIERS — The Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held bilateral talks on Thursday in Kuala Lumpur with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of East Timor, Bendito dos Santos Freitas, on the sidelines of his participation in the signing ceremony of Algeria’s accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), according to a ministry statement.
The meeting provided an opportunity to “reaffirm the common will of Algeria and East Timor to strengthen the friendship ties that unite them, in addition to their commitment to continue their coordination as part of the United Nations with a view to advancing the UN decolonization process worldwide,” the statement said.
