Units of the People’s National Army (PNA) managed to eliminate four terrorists and recover four Kalashnikov submachine guns and a quantity of ammunition during a search and sweep operation Sunday in Djbel Amrouna area in Ain Defla, according to a statement from the Algerian Ministry of Defense.
The statement said that “as part of counterterrorism operations and following a search and sweep operation in Djbel Amrouna area of Ain Defla military sector, in the First Military Region, units of the People’s National Army managed today, 01 February 2026, to eliminate four terrorists and recover four Kalashnikov submachine guns and a quantity of ammunition.”
The Defense Ministry affirmed that “this ongoing operation shows the vigilance and resolve of the People’s National Army units to track down the remaining members of these criminals until they are completely eliminated.”
