Algeria FM to Attend 3rd AU-EU Ministerial Meeting in Brussels on Wednesday

Appointed by the Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf arrived in Brussels, Belgium, on Tuesday to participate in the 3rd European Union – African Union Ministerial Meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, according to a statement from the ministry.

The agenda for this ministerial meeting will focus on “evaluating progress made in implementing the conclusions of the 6th AU-EU summit, held in February 2022 in Brussels, particularly the commitments made during that summit aimed at strengthening the Africa-Europe partnership in areas such as peace, security, and sustainable development in all its dimensions,” the statement further elaborates.

Additionally, the meeting will provide an opportunity “to discuss ways to inject more dynamism and effectiveness into this partnership, especially in preparation for the upcoming 7th AU-EU summit, which is expected to be hosted by an African country,” the source adds.
