
ALGIERS – On behalf of the Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Attaf arrived in Beijing on Monday to participate in the 9th session of the Ministerial Meeting of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) scheduled for Tuesday, according to a statement from the ministry.
This ministerial meeting is part of the preparations for the 4th China-Africa Summit, which will take place on September 5 and 6 under the theme “Building a Common Future for Africa and China.” The summit will “assess progress in implementing various cooperation and partnership programs between African countries and China in economic, political, and socio-cultural fields.
Moreover, new objectives will be presented for these cooperative and partnership relations in line with an approach that meets the needs and aspirations of both parties,” the statement added.
On the sidelines of the ministerial meeting, Mr. Attaf will hold bilateral meetings with several of his African counterparts, the statement concluded.
