Algeria Chosen as North Africa’s Contact Point for Pharmaceutical Registration

ALGIERS – Algeria, represented by the National Agency for Pharmaceutical Products (ANPP), has been selected as the contact point for pharmaceutical product registration in North Africa, according to a statement from the Algerian Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry on Thursday.

The announcement was made during the meeting on the “North Africa Medicine Regulatory Harmonization” (NA-MRH) initiative, which took place in Egypt from February 18 to 20. The selection of Algeria was based on a thorough evaluation following scientific and thematic criteria, reinforcing the country’s regional role in pharmaceutical regulation and registration.

The ANPP’s designation among other North African agencies highlights the strength of Algeria’s pharmaceutical registration system, which has ensured the quality of medicines available in the country. This recognition further solidifies Algeria’s position as a key player in the pharmaceutical sector within the region.
