ALGIERS– The membership of the People’s National Assembly (APN) as an observer member of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (PARLATINO) was unanimously approved last September, according to a press release from the lower house of Parliament on Sunday.
“This decision was made following deliberations by the 23 members of the Board of Directors of this institution,” the statement clarified, adding that this membership represents “a historic step undertaken by Algeria to expand its parliamentary cooperation with the Latin American and Caribbean region, especially since PARLATINO includes 23 parliaments with 4,500 parliamentarians representing 369 political parties from the countries of the region.”
