Algeria and Norway emphasise the importance of enhancing international coordination to support Sahel countries

The Algerian Secretary of State for African Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bakhta Selma Mansouri, met on Monday with Knut Langeland, the Special Envoy for the Sahel Region from Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Algerian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The two officials focused on strengthening cooperation to support stability and development efforts in the Sahel region, the statement said.

During their discussions, Monsouri and Langeland addressed security challenges, climate change, humanitarian issues, and sustainable development concerns facing the region. Moreover, they underscored the importance of enhancing international coordination to assist Sahel countries in overcoming these multifaceted challenges.
