Algeria takes on the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on Tuesday, January 6, at 5:00 p.m. in the round of 16 of the AFCON2025, running from December 21 to January 18.
DRC team secured its qualification to the knockout stage on Tuesday evening, following its victory over Botswana with a score of 3-0, in the third and final round of Group D competition.
Senegal reclaimed the top spot in the group after beating Benin 3-0, finishing ahead on goal difference.
Meanwhile, Algeria secured its place in the Round of 16 last Sunday after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Burkina Faso in the second round of Group E.
Vladimir Petkovic’s squad will wrap up the group stage on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. against Equatorial Guinea, already eliminated from the competition, in the third and final round.
The Round of 16 matches of the continental competition are scheduled to take place on January 3, 4, 5, and 6.
