$480 million deal to supply West African markets with Algerian electrical equipment

ALGIERS – An agreement was signed on Sunday to supply West African markets with Algerian electrical equipment worth 480 million USD, on the sidelines of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025).

The agreement brings together the Algerian industrial group GISB ELECTRIC, specialized in the manufacturing of electrical equipment, and SOGELUX, a group active in the distribution of such equipment in both Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire.

Under this agreement, GISB ELECTRIC will export electrical equipment worth over $300 million to SOGELUX in Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire, from where it will be distributed to markets within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) over a period of three years.

The agreement also includes plans to implement industrial investments totaling $180 million in Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire, focused on the electrical manufacturing sector.
