Iranian Lawmakers Reject Renewed U.S. Talks, Demand Preconditions Be Met

TEHRAN – Iranian lawmakers declared Wednesday that no new negotiations with the United States should take place unless Iran’s preconditions are fully met, citing the failure of past diplomacy and accusing Washington of complicity in  recent Zionist attack on Iran.

The statement, read during an open parliamentary session by Ahmad Naderi, a member of the Parliament’s presiding board, reaffirmed that the strategic red lines outlined by Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei remain the definitive guide for the country’s foreign policy. Lawmakers denounced what they called deceptive U.S. diplomacy, especially in light of unprovoked Zionist strikes on June 13 that targeted Iranian military and nuclear officials and killed civilians.

“It is no longer possible to negotiate as before,” the statement said. “Preconditions must be set, and until they are completely fulfilled, no new talks should take place.”

The MPs accused U.S. President Donald Trump of a duplicitous role, claiming he publicly supported diplomacy while secretly backing Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the 12-day war of aggression. According to the lawmakers, the U.S. offered the Zionist entity full intelligence, military, and operational support, and even authorized a symbolic strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

“The enmity of the United States toward Iran is not new,” the statement concluded. “It needs no provocation. It is, simply, an enemy.”
