The president of the Islamic Development Bank Group, Mohammed Sulaiman Al-Jasser, announced the signing of a new three-year cooperation framework with Algeria, with financing exceeding 3 billion dollars.

In a statement to AL24 News, Mohammed Sulaiman Al-Jasser confirmed that the new financing plan—set to be signed during the annual meetings hosted by Algeria starting on Monday—will focus on financing railway projects as a national priority.

Al-Jasser added that the Islamic Development Bank Group intends to double the financing directed to Algeria after it recently exceeded 2.9 billion dollars, in line with the country’s ongoing developmental resurgence.

The President of the Islamic Development Bank Group also praised Algeria’s steadfastness and commitment to strengthening the unity among the member states of this multilateral financial group. In this regard and during his interview with the AL24 News, he expressed his gratitude to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for the excellent organization and warm hospitality that has characterized the ongoing preparations for Algeria to host the Bank’s annual meetings for the third time in its history.

Moreover, Al-Jasser anticipated that the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group would see the signing of several bilateral agreements between countries to finance infrastructure projects, in addition to discussions on the ten-year plan that will elevate the bank to a new level of financing, particularly in technology sectors.
