Moroccan Writer: Mali’s Hostility Toward Algeria is Part of a Larger Conspiracy

Moroccan writer and journalist Ali Lahrouchi stated that the unjustified actions taken by Mali’s transitional authorities against Algeria are part of a broader conspiracy orchestrated by well-known parties who are disturbed by Algeria’s stances and its staunch defense of African interests and its resistance to all forms of foreign ambitions on the continent, Algeria Press Service (APS) reported on Tuesday.

In an article titled “Mali’s Hostility Toward Algeria is Part of a Greater Conspiracy,” the Moroccan dissident based in the Netherlands highlighted the substantial sacrifices Algeria has made across various sectors to support numerous African nations, particularly those in the Sahel and Sahara regions, with Mali at the forefront. He emphasized that Mali has received comprehensive support from Algeria, including economic aid, to help it confront its deepening internal challenges, the source said.

The writer also highlighted Algeria’s assistance to Mali in confronting terrorist organizations and dismantling criminal networks involved in smuggling, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and other transnational illicit activities.

“Despite everything Algeria has done, it has not been enough to make the transitional authorities in Mali reconsider and act with caution before stepping out of line and siding with the conspirators against Algeria,” Lahrouchi said, adding that “nothing could drive the Malian authorities to commit such a reckless and ill-considered act, except if there are parties offering them incentives and urging them to take the first steps in a premeditated conspiracy designed to target Algeria.”

The writer believes that many parties, including Morocco and the Zionist entity, “have an interest in Mali’s stubbornness and its provocation of Algeria, creating tension along the borders.”

Moreover, he argued that the incident involving the drone that crossed from Mali into Algerian airspace, along with the military maneuvers in Morocco involving the Zionist army, “is also closely connected to the diplomatic and media campaign fueled by the far-right in France.”

“Why is France now acting negatively and disgracefully against Algeria, when it didn’t before? (…) Is this part of a plan with others targeting a country that has chosen to be free and independent in its direction and choices, away from the influence of colonial powers?,” the Moroccan writer said in his article.
