USA: Unemployment Rises to 4.2% in March

The unemployment rate in the United States experienced a slight increase in March for the second consecutive month, as reported by the Department of Labor on Friday.
The unemployment rate rose to 4.2%, up from 4.1% in February and 4.0% in January.
Analysts had expected the unemployment rate to remain steady at 4.1% in March, according to consensus data published by MarketWatch.
In contrast, the U.S. added significantly more jobs in March than anticipated, with a total of 228,000 jobs created, surpassing the financial experts’ prediction of 140,000.
Job creation was notably driven by sectors including healthcare, social assistance, transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
