US: No Survivors in Washington Plane Crash, 67 Dead (Trump)

WASHINGTON, January 31, 2025 – “Sadly, there are no survivors,” stated the U.S. president during a press conference, following a moment of silence for the victims of the plane crash in Washington that claimed 67 lives.

Sixty-four individuals were on board the commercial flight that collided with a U.S. Army helicopter, which had three soldiers aboard, on Wednesday evening over the Potomac River.

“This was a dark and excruciating night in our nation’s capital and in our nation’s history, and a tragedy of terrible proportions,” Donald Trump expressed sorrowfully, assuring that a comprehensive investigation would be conducted to determine the causes of the accident.

With a toll of 67 fatalities, this incident marks the deadliest aviation disaster in the United States since an American Airlines flight crashed shortly after taking off from John F. Kennedy Airport in New York in November 2001.

On Thursday, teams of divers, supported by rescue boats, retrieved bodies from the frigid waters of the Potomac River, where debris from both aircraft has surfaced.
