Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto Embarks on Key Global Tour

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto embarked on his first overseas trip since taking office last month, with China being his first stop. This visit marks the beginning of a two-week diplomatic tour that will take him to the United States, Brazil, Peru, and potentially some Middle Eastern countries.
The 73-year-old leader’s state visit to China comes at the invitation of President Xi Jinping. In Beijing, Prabowo is set to engage in bilateral discussions with his Chinese counterpart, covering both regional and international matters.
After China, Prabowo will head to Washington, where he has been invited by outgoing U.S. President Joe Biden. In Peru, Prabowo will represent Indonesia at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. His diplomatic journey will continue in Brazil, where he will attend the G20 summit.
On his return to Jakarta, Prabowo is scheduled to meet with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London. Sources also indicate that he may visit some Middle Eastern nations during his travels.
Speaking before his departure from Jakarta’s Halim Perdanakusuma air force base, Prabowo expressed pride in the invitations Indonesia has received. “This shows how Indonesia is truly respected on the global stage, with many countries eager to engage in important discussions on economic and geopolitical issues,” he said. “We are honored, and we will continue to strengthen our relationships with all nations.”
