Ukraine Suffered Casualties of Up to 800 Soldiers in Clashes with Russian Southern Forces

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia’s Battlegroup Yug eliminated up to 800 Ukrainian service members over the past day, according to the Russian Defense Ministry’s statement on Wednesday. “The enemy’s losses amounted to over 800 soldiers, an armored personnel carrier, 10 vehicles, and two Polish-made 155-mm Krab self-propelled artillery units,” the ministry reported.
Additionally, Russia’s Battlegroup Zapad reportedly repelled six counterattacks, with Ukrainian forces losing over 510 soldiers during the engagements. The ministry also noted that Russian military operations led to the capture of the Serebryanka and Nikolaevka settlements in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).
Furthermore, Russia’s Battlegroup Tsentr is said to have repelled 13 Ukrainian counterattacks, contributing to an additional loss of up to 450 soldiers for Kiev within the same timeframe. The ongoing military activities highlight the intense conflict in the region, with both sides sustaining heavy casualties.
