Palestine: At Least 21 Killed During the Siege of Jenin (Wafa)

Several Palestinians have been killed and many others injured during the ten-day siege of Jenin by Zionist occupation forces, who withdrew early Friday morning, leaving behind destruction and casualties, according to the Wafa news agency.

During this armed assault on the city of Jenin, Wafa reports that at least 21 Palestinians, including children and elderly individuals, were killed, while numerous others sustained injuries—some critically—as a result of this aggression against the Jenin governorate, which locals describe as the bloodiest and most violent episode since 2002.

Residents of Jenin remain apprehensive that the Zionist occupation forces may return to storm the city and its refugee camp following their withdrawal, especially given their deployment at surrounding military checkpoints—a pattern that has occurred multiple times in the past.

In another incident, several Zionist settlers set fire to a vehicle and scrawled racist slogans on the walls of a house in the Khallet Zouaiter neighborhood near Ramallah. Wafa notes that “attacks by Zionist settlers against Palestinians are commonplace, as are assaults on defenseless Palestinian communities throughout the West Bank.”

Most of these assaults occur in the presence of the Zionist occupation army, which has failed to intervene and instead provided protection for the aggressions of the Zionist settlers, Wafa emphasizes.
