SpaceX Mission for First Private Spacewalk Set for Friday

The launch of SpaceX’s rocket for a groundbreaking mission, which includes the first-ever private extravehicular activity in history, Polaris Dawn, is scheduled for Friday following a postponement last week, U.S. authorities announced on Tuesday.
A four-hour launch window will open at 3:33 AM (07:33 GMT) on Friday from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, with additional opportunities available on Saturday and Sunday, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The Polaris Dawn mission, which comprises a billionaire, a pilot, and two crew members, was initially delayed by 24 hours due to the detection of a “helium leak” in a line supplying the rocket on August 26. It faced another postponement on Friday “due to unfavorable weather conditions,” as stated by SpaceX.
The mission aims to test SpaceX’s new spacesuits designed for outer space, which are white and boast a futuristic appearance.
