ASEAN Forum : Beijing insists on maintaining peace and stability in the region

VIENTIANE – The Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi, called on Saturday the members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to remain committed to the organisation’s vision of peace, to advance regional peace and stability, preserving therefore, an ASEAN-centered regional architecture.

“Unilateralism and the Cold War mentality are on the rise, and small military and security circles are multiplying,” he added.
The chinese foreign minister reiterated the need to meet the aspirations of all parties, and to pursuit a common, and cooperative approach for sustainable security.
