Zionist Entity’s Blockade Triggers Famine as Gaza Bakeries Shut Down

Gaza’s Government Media Office has condemned the Zionist entity’s decision to block humanitarian aid and fuel from entering the enclave, which has led to the closure of all bakeries and worsened an already dire famine crisis. In a statement Tuesday, the office accused the Zionist entity of committing a “new crime” against Gaza’s 2.4 million residents by cutting off flour, aid, and fuel supplies for a month, leaving civilians in desperate conditions. Holding the Zionist entity and the US “fully responsible,” the office urged urgent intervention from the UN, the international community, and human rights organizations.

Hamas also denounced the bakery shutdown, calling it a dangerous escalation of the Zionist entity’s genocide campaign. The group warned that Gaza has entered a state of famine, describing it as one of the worst humanitarian disasters in modern history. Abdel Nasser Al-Ajrami, head of the Bakery Owners Association in Gaza, confirmed that bakeries supported by the World Food Program ceased operations due to shortages of essential supplies such as flour, sugar, salt, yeast, and diesel fuel.

The Zionist entity has intensified its military operations in Gaza, killing over 1,000 people and injuring more than 2,000 since launching a new aerial campaign on March 18, shattering a previous ceasefire. Since October 2023, nearly 50,400 Palestinians—mostly women and children—have lost their lives in  ongoing Zionist onslaught. The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former War Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes, while the zionist entity also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.
