Zelenskyy Says Preparations Complete for Trump Meeting Aimed at Advancing War’s End

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Kyiv has completed preparations for his upcoming meeting with US President Donald Trump, emphasizing that the agenda includes crucial military and economic discussions intended to help move the war with Russia closer to an end.
“We have already prepared our part of the homework ahead of the (Oct. 17) meeting with President Trump – both the military component and the economic one. Every detail, everything is ready,” Zelenskyy said in his evening address. He added that the talks with the US president “can truly bring the war closer to an end,” stressing that Washington’s global influence is key to uniting international support for Ukraine.
Zelenskyy confirmed that a Ukrainian delegation, including the prime minister, the head of the presidential office, and other senior officials, is already in Washington for preparatory talks with US defense and energy firms. He also mentioned Ukraine’s ongoing push for the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative with European partners to jointly procure American weapons. The president thanked the United Kingdom for imposing new sanctions on major Russian oil companies and expressed appreciation to Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for continued cooperation on energy and resilience measures.
