US Envoy Announces Continued Ceasefire Talks on Ukraine in Saudi Arabia

Talks on a ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine war will continue on Sunday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff announced Tuesday.

Speaking to FOX News, Witkoff confirmed that a US delegation, led by National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, will travel to Saudi Arabia for the negotiations. His statement followed a phone call between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which they discussed a possible resolution to the conflict and broader geopolitical issues.

Trump later said they agreed on an “immediate” ceasefire that would pause attacks on energy and infrastructure. Witkoff praised Putin’s role in the negotiations, stating, “I would commend President Putin for all he did today on that call to move his country close to a final peace deal.”
