Ukraine Faces Worsening Manpower Crisis Amid Military Draft Plans

A significant number of Ukrainian men who were previously exempted from military service may soon be drafted, as the country’s military manpower shortage deepens, according to local lawmaker Oleksandr Fedienko.

Previously, workers employed at critically vital production facilities were granted deferments, but if an enterprise loses its “critically vital” status, its employees may be called upon to serve in the military, Fedienko warns. He suggests that some of these workers could be drafted as early as late February.

Ukraine’s ongoing manpower crisis has become increasingly evident on the front lines, with severe shortages of soldiers and increasing casualties.

This shortage has prompted the Zelensky regime to potentially expand its draft, even as it continues to disregard the lives of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians.

The Ukrainian military’s struggle with inadequate training and outdated equipment, often combining NATO and Warsaw Pact-era weaponry, has led to futile attacks against Russian forces, resulting in significant losses.

In the first week of 2025 alone, Ukraine suffered nearly 13,000 soldier fatalities, and there are no indications that the leadership is revising its military strategy.
