UK Prime Minister Starmer Condemns Gaza Assaults as “Intolerable” and “Appalling”

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Wednesday strongly condemned ongoing Zionist attacks on Gaza, calling them “appalling, counterproductive, and intolerable” during a session of Prime Minister’s Questions in the House of Commons.

Starmer reiterated the UK government’s firm opposition to both the expansion of Zionist aggression on Gaza and settler violence in the occupied West Bank. He noted that London has already suspended Free Trade Agreement talks with the Zionist entity and imposed sanctions on extremists involved in West Bank violence. “We need to get back to a ceasefire,” Starmer said, stressing the urgency of releasing hostages and accelerating the delivery of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

Under growing pressure from MPs to take stronger action, Starmer affirmed that his government continues to work with allies on potential further measures, including additional sanctions. He said the government remains “absolutely clear” in its condemnation of Israel’s actions, including the “dreadful blocking of aid,” and pledged to keep pushing for relief efforts to proceed “at speed and at volume.”

The British leader’s remarks came as Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that at least 54,607 Palestinians have been killed since October 2023. The Zionist occupation resumed its bombardment of the enclave on March 18, breaking a ceasefire agreement reached earlier this year. The Zionist entity is currently facing legal proceedings at the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice over war crimes and acts of genocide.
