Tropical Storm Yagi kills 11 in the Philippines

MANILA – Eleven people have died in floods and landslides caused by Tropical Storm Yagi, locally known as Enteng, which has pummelled the capital Manila and nearby provinces since Sunday, local authorities reported on Monday.

Yagi brought winds of up to 85 kph (53 mph), with gusts reaching 105 kph (65 mph), as it continued to move northwest on Luzon, the Philippines’ biggest and most populous island.
