Sonelgaz and Mexican Duro Felguera Discuss Power Plant Project

On Wednesday, Algerian Sonelgaz Group and the Mexican company Duro Felguera held discussions regarding the development of a power plant in Aïn Oussera, located in Djelfa province.
Mourad Adjal, CEO of Sonelgaz, welcomed a delegation led by Jaime Isita Portilla, Chairman of Duro Felguera’s Board of Directors, along with several senior executives from both organizations. The meeting took place at the headquarters of Sonelgaz’s General Directorate, according to a statement from the public group.
The meeting focused on evaluating future cooperation between the two entities, specifically concerning their joint project to establish a power plant in Aïn Oussera (Djelfa), the statement detailed.
At the outset of the encounter, both parties emphasized the depth of the historical relationship between their countries. They also explored ways to strengthen economic partnerships between Sonelgaz and Mexican economic operators in general, and Duro Felguera in particular, the statement added.
During the occasion, the CEO of Sonelgaz praised the new leadership team at Duro Felguera, expressing that they would “bring renewed momentum to the partnership between the two companies,” according to the same source.
The discussions underscored the importance of expediting the project through the formation of a joint working team. This team will be responsible for developing a memorandum of understanding and outlining a roadmap to commission the energy facility promptly, the statement concluded.
